Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.
— Alexander Graham Bell
The School of Natural Sciences created the Excel! program to help with the many challenges students face in adjusting to the rigors of a math and science curriculum. The goal is to connect interested students with people and information they need to excel in math and science. Excel! includes School of Natural Sciences faculty, advisers and staff from the Calvin E. Bright Success Center to help students meet academic requirements. An Excel! staff member will meet and follow up with interested students individually on a semester-by-semester basis to provide students with information and contacts to help them achieve their goals.
Students are strongly encouraged to contact an Excel! staff for assistance if they are:
- Majoring in math or science interested in receiving academic assistance.
- Experiencing some form of academic difficulties.
- On academic probation or special probation (required).
