The School of Natural Sciences staff exists to further the university's mission of teaching, research and service, benefiting society through discovering and transmitting new knowledge and functioning as an active repository of organized knowledge. As a key tenet in carrying out this mission, we promote and celebrate the diversity of all members of our community.

Our staff members support our faculty and students in the pursuit of academic and research endeavors as we prepare the next generation of leaders in the broad areas of life, physical and environmental sciences.

Staff Announcements

July 18, 2017 - Congrats to the staff members that were recognized at the annual Staff Appreciation Reception held at Vista Cellars. Staff took some time to recognize the achievements and dedication of a successful academic year. They also were able to relax and learn how to paint the Beginnings statue. March 20, 2017 - Amy Moffat, Student and Program Assessment Manager was one of the recipients of UC Merced's Outstanding Women's Award, which recognizes the efforts and contributions of those campus community members that identify as women. The award is provided by Women's Programs in the Office of Student Life. More information is available online.

February 18, 2016 - Congratulations to Rita Guel, Lolo Cardenas, Lorena Magaña-Aguilar, Vanessa Ortega, and Teri Campos for receiving "On the Spot" awards for their above and beyond work. Read more about their accomplishments here.

December 9, 2015 - Two new staff members joined the School of Natural Sciences Personnel Unit - Josephine Vang and Sauci Xiong are our new Academic Personnel Specialists. Both Josephine and Sauci's office is in Science and Engineering 1 Building 370.

After two and half years as the School of Natural Sciences, Monica Sozinho, Events Coordinator will be leaving us on December 18, 2015. She will be the new Events Coordinator at the UCSF Fresno Center in the Department of Internal Medicine. We wish you the best Monica in this new career opportunity!
