We have a unique way of approaching graduate students at UC Merced. Instead of admitting a cohort of students with similar interests, we take a more personalized approach. Here, we ask prospective graduate students to contact faculty members whose research interests match theirs to discuss whether working together would be mutually beneficial. You'll have your advisor lined up before you even start your studies. Even better, you'll know the focus of your research and what's expected of you. To help you begin your search, a list of our major research areas is to the right.
