Physics Colloquium 293 (10/6/17)

Date:
October 6, 2017 - 10:30am

George Chapline, Ph.D., Lawrence Livermore National Lab, Quantum Simulation Group

Abstract:

Quantum neural networks offer a unified and mathematically rigorous approach to solving pattern recognition, Bayesian decision tree, and combinatorial optimization problems. They also have the allure of being able to implement optimal Bayesian signal recognition in a fashion that is much closer to way the mammalian brain works than the deep learning neural networks currently used in machine learning.
