RadioBio is a podcast all about biology, from molecules to ecosystems

RadioBio

RadioBio and its President Kinsey Brock were big winners at the 2018 Leadership Awards. Ms. Brock was awarded Organization President of the Year, and RadioBio was honored with the University Friends Circle Community Service Organization Award. So what is RadioBio exactly?

Biology graduate students are producing educational podcasts and artwork to communicate research happening at UC Merced and beyond. RadioBio seeks to increase scientific literacy in the Central Valley, and engage UC Merced undergraduates in biology and cutting-edge research. In its first year, RadioBio produced 20 episodes focused on topics ranging from cellular clocks to flying lizards. Listeners tune in to RadioBio on Mariposa radio, and stream podcasts from UC Merced classrooms and around the world. On campus, RadioBio participated in Graduate Research Orientation Week, co-sponsored a visiting speaker in the Quantitative & Systems Biology seminar series, and created and hosted GradSTORY, a Research Week event to expose undergraduates to the research and life stories of graduate students. RadioBio is excited to partner with Dean Dumont to host ValleyBio: The Biology of Central Valley, a free event downtown at the Multicultural Arts Center that will feature scientific talks and an art show themed on the biology of the Central Valley. ValleyBio will take place during the 2018 homecoming weekend on Friday, October 19th. See you there!
