Supporting Student Success

The success of our students is important and we have some resources and services available to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) majors to aid in their growth and success. The School of Natural Sciences looks to foster and create an environment of academic achievement through support services and programs like the STEM Resource Center and the Excel! Program.

The STEM Resource Center looks to engage students in developing and enhancing their academic and social experiences at UC Merced through opportunities of peer tutoring, networking programs, and connecting students with research related programs.

The Excel! Program helps students achieve their academic goals by providing support services in navigating the various academic policies and processes at UC Merced and seeking out resources on campus to assist them in improving academically and comply with UC policies.

The CalTeach is a program initiated by the state and the University of California president to prepare and support students who are interested in becoming K-12 math and science teachers. The CalTeach Program provides an opportunity for students to engage and explore a career in teaching.
