Dylan grew up in Modesto as an only child. In Salida middle school during 6th grade he was given the opportunity to attend a youth outreach program by UC Davis that first interested him in the field of chemistry. Dylan then went to Joseph A. Gregori High School where he joined Teens Run Modesto, a marathon running club devoted to teaching young teens the importance of dedication and goal- setting. Upon coming to the University of California – Merced, his interest in chemistry continued to grow with the faculty being open and enthusiastically explaining their research and the broad applications of the field of chemistry. This semester he graduates with a BS in Chemical Sciences – Chemistry Emphasis, and in August will be going to graduate school for a doctorate in biochemistry with an interest in medicine synthesis and metabolism. He has treasured his time at UC Merced and looks forward to furthering his education in the future.
