Amy Moffat, Student and Program Assessment Manager was the recipient of the UC Merced’s Outstanding Women award. This annual award recognizes the those faculty, post docs, staff, and students who identify as women at UC Merced who enriched the campus community through notable leadership, sustained dedication, outstanding service, and inspiring achievements that directly impact women. The award is provided by Women’s Programs out of the Office of Student Life.
Amy is actively engaged in the campus serving as the secretary and treasurer of the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CACSW). In December of 2016 she organized and developed a monthly Women’s Circle at UC Merced as a space where women of every background can safely attend without fear or judgment to share their true self. She also was nominated to participate in the 2017 UC-CORO Women’s Initiative for Professional Development Program, which is designed to improve the professional development of women at the University of California.
In addition, Amy has served as an influential mentor to her student intern, Marin O’Brien. Marin expressed that “…she has had a profound impact on my professional life, helping me develop the skills and abilities necessary to have a fruitful career…she has taught me how to effectively write a report, create a research poster, write a research paper, etc…”
