The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) has awarded Adam Fishburn the 2015 ASM Undergraduate Research Fellowship. This competitive fellowship provides the opportunity for Adam to conduct research during the summer with his ASM mentor, Dr. Clarissa Nobile, Assistant Professor. The title of the research project is: Interspecies Interactions between Streptococcus and Candida in Biofilms. Each fellow has the opportunity to present their research results at the 2016 ASM Microbe Meeting held in June in Boston, MA, if their abstract is accepted. Additionally, each fellow receives up to a $4,000 stipend, a two-year ASM student membership, and funding for travel expenses to attend the ASM Research Capstone Institute and ASM Microbe Meeting.
