Student Employee Performance Management

The Student Employee evaluation process is an important process that a supervisor complete at least once a year or at the end of every semester (fall and/or spring). This is an opportunity for supervisors to acknowledge and address performance related aspectes of a student employee. A final evaluation is to be completed at the end of the student's employement (regardless of separation or end of contract term).

The supervisor must complete the Student Employee Evaluation Form and review its contents with the student, including areas of positive feedback and potential areas of improvement that may be needed.

The supervisor and student employer must sign the complete evaluation form. The supervisor must send a signed copy of the evaluation from to the School of Natural Sciences Academic and Staff Personnel Analyst who will retain a copy for the student's employment record. A signed copy of the evaluation form should be gvien to the student for their record.

Supervisors should be very specific regarding areas that the student needs to improve and provide details about how the student might measurably be able to improvie their performance in the area.
